We’re doing some behind the scenes stuff here and you may notice some wonkiness here and there because of it. We’re working on it though and should have things back to normal by tomorrow.

Canine cancer survivor Lydia now on Facebook

Posted: 18 Feb 2010 11:50 AM PST

My little canine cancer survivor got a brand spankin’ new Facebook Fan Page for her ninth birthday (Happy Birthday Lydia!) and she’s been strutting around like a rock star because of it. She already knew she was the bees knees in my eyes, but now . . . watch out Lady Gaga!

The birthday girl wants everyone to know that she’s a canine cancer survivor. It’s been over a year and a half since her cancer diagnosis and she’s been in remission almost as long. Her Facebook Fan Page page is dedicated to dogs (and cats) everywhere, especially those who have, or have had, cancer.

Even though the past year and a half hasn’t been easy for either of us, Lydia has been a cancer warrior and has been a pretty good sport about it all. She had a very un-fun surgery, went through nine months of chemotherapy, and has had days when she felt down right yucky. She didn’t give up though. With the help of her regular veterinarian, her veterinary oncologist, and all the technicians and other great people we’ve met along the way, she’s done great. She’s even out lived her vet’s original prognosis!

Lydia wants other dogs and cats, and their people, to think of her when they hear the words ‘canine cancer’ or ‘feline cancer.’ She encourages them to have hope, and fight!

We hope you’ll come join us, tell us about your pets, and even post a picture of your babies!
