Red Fox: The Red Fox is about the size of a large cat. In fact, although it is a member of the dog family, some of it's habits are very cat like as well. Appearance wise, it has a reddish coat with white underneath and a big bushy tail with normally a white tip.

Red Fox Habitat: Foxes live all over North America. They can live in the deepest wilderness or right in your backyard with equal ease

HOW DO FOXES HUNT? : In the wild, foxes need a large living space or territory. They have a home range of one to five miles. Red foxes move over that range looking for food, usually hunting alone. They use urine to mark a spot they have already checked for food. It's like leaving a note to remind themselves not to check there again. Red foxes can be very territorial, fighting other foxes that come into their area. Their senses of smell, eyesight, and hearing work together to help them find tiny mice scurrying through the tall grass. When they think they've found the mouse, they pounce on it, grabbing it with their paws.

  1. These are beautiful fox pictures. Unfortunately in the UK, the Tories (if elected in May) have pledged to hold vote amongst MPs to repeal the hunting act that prohibits hunting with hounds of foxes, deer, hare, and mink. We are campaigning to stop this repeal from happening and your support (UK and International) is very important. Please ask your supporters if they could sign our politically neutral, online register at:
